Janet, German Lisa, Lynnette and I met in Taste for Lunch (summer rolls, chicken milanese and spaghetti bolognese again) before heading into port.
We split up, they went to the shopping area and I headed to the historic area. I walked for almost an hour along harbor. It was a lovely walk. Thousands of boats were docked, huge mega yachts to small wooden boats.
I walked to the Cathedral but it was closed for the day. I went in the La Almudaina the Royal Palace of Palma Mallorca which was small but nice (no pictures allowed inside). The palace has had an interesting history of first being a Muslim Castle then the palace of Cristian Kings. You are only allowed in some if the servant areas, the royal apartments and a chapel. Below is a picture of the courtyard fountain.
I walked back behind the cathedral in the old part of town. It was so quaint and quiet. The tall buildings all have sweet little balconies overlooking the narrow streets.
I followed the signs to the Arab Baths. Tucked away just off a beautiful garden courtyard, these are the only remaining Muslim monuments and they date back to approximately the 10th century.
Lots of pretty flowers and statues on Mallorca.
I took bus 1 back to the port where I utilized the free Internet with purchase. Look at the cute heart in my cappuccino.
Taste dinner
-Tempura mushrooms
-Necorsie Salad
-Beef and mushroom stroganoff
- chocolate truffle cake
All were very tasty.
Janet and I decided a soak in the hot tub was a perfect way to end the last night of our cruise. We were joined by Steve from the UK who loves Disney almost as mush as I do.
Packing and bed. Sad to leave tomorrow.
