Dublin part 1

The long line at customs moved quickly, less than 15 minutes. I walked right out the door and there was a bus waiting to take me to Dublin city center. €12 round trip.

45 minutes later the bus dropped me off right in front of Trinity College. As I walked through the gates they were assembling everyone for the first tour if the day. I joined the lovely 1/2 hour tour. Our tour guide Niall, who found out he passed all his classes to graduate yesterday, gave a quick overview of the university's history, architecture and notable alumni. The tour ended at the queue line for the Book of Kells exhibit. The Book of Kells is a lavishly decorated copy of the 4 gospels of the bible that was written in the early 9th century. It is in Latin but so well preserved that it is still legible.

The tour continued through the Trinity College Library Dublin which is unusual in that all the books are arranged not by Dewy Decimal, not alphabetically but by size. Very Useful.

I stole a peak into the Museum Building that is home of the Civil  Engineering department. It was a just beautiful on the inside with all sorts of historical trinkets and amazing architectural details.

We are excited to see all the Foreign food you will get to eat. You don't have to eat the gross stuff like on TV.

What a cool library! You have already taken some great pictures. We can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.

    Love,
    Jeff, Katie, Dad, and Mom
