Monday, July 8: Pamplona to Puente la Reina

Walked 25 km today!!!

The plan was to wake up at 5am and try to go see the running of the bulls from the street. Everyone was too tired. We all rolled over and went back to bed.

Left at like 10am through the trash strewn streets of Pamplona. (In Pamplona's defense they street sweepers were out in full force but hasn't gotten to our area yet)

We walked past people sleeping in the park by the citadel, through the suburbs, and across the campus of the University of Navarra.

We climed another hill. This one had an art sculpture at the top.

And wind turbines

We walked some more. My feet were starting to hurt. It felt like the bottoms were burning. I should have stopped because my right foot now has a big blister to match the left foot.

We got to Puente la Reina at the Refugio p.p. Reparadores (€5) like 7ish. My feet hurt to much to walk to dinner so I got two juices and a chocolate milk from the vending machine and ate some peanut butter crackers I had brought from Florida.

I said my good byes to my new friends and went to bed. Tomorrow it is back to walking alone.
