Wednesday, July 3: Camino- Day 2 Roncesvalles to Espinal

I was like the last one out of the auberge in the morning. The cold misty rain fogged the path ahead.

And restaurant

I walked to the next town ~8km away.

I was freezing, sore and just miserable. I walked through town not finding what I was looking for but it ended up being even better. The guy at the bar of this little hostel said I was welcome to go to the room right away. And it had an elevator too!

I was the only one there and I got to pick my own bed. I curled into bed wrapped in my fleece and sleeping bag, trying to get warm. 4 hours later I woke up from the nap.

Nothing much exciting. I ate the pilgrim's menu downstairs for dinner. The first plate was pasta salad with a heap of what looked like pink mayo in the center. It was not very good. The second course was chicken and fries. And then a freezer section ice-cream cone for dessert.  Just an ok dinner.
