15.5km walked to day. It was so hot it felt like walking on the surface of the sun. Especially the last 4 km where my feet were telling me "we should be done already."
I chose to stay at Albergue ANFAS which is run by an organization that work with special needs adults. It cost €7 and was just one large room of bunk beds, bathroom and kitchen. As I was checking in I noticed a sign on the wall saying that the pool at the high school was free from 7:00-8:30. Yippee!
I showed and relaxed for a bit I went to the store and picked up a few things for dinner:pasta, sauce, eggs, garlic and a red powerade. Well the powerade was for tomorrow. The redone is called "blood orange" here but it tastes almost like fruit punch.
Taking my small bag of groceries with me I hiked up hill to the pool. It was a whole sports complex with two pools. Very neat. Lots of kids and families were there.
I dived right in. The water was cool but not cold. It was so refreshing. I did a few laps and a few flips and dives in the deep end. A thunderstorm started rolling in so I didn't stay long.
I beat the rain back to the albergue. I attempted to cook dinner. I made pasta, sauce and some eggs for protein. I didn't have the right spices for the sauce so it didn't taste quite right. The eggs turned out rubbery. I could only make myself eat about half of it.
Talked to my Dad on Skype. He took the computer out to Nixie, my dog. It was sad. She was so confused, looking for me everywhere. Through the computer Dad also showed me the garden and I toured dad through the Albergue on Skype.
Today I was lucky because I got to go to the pool for free. Coincidence?
