I was one of the last ones out the door this morning. The hight today was 32degC (93F) Too hot! My options were 9 km or 21 km. I picked to do 9.
I got a chocolate croissant for breakfast at a cafe waiting for post office to open. Mailed a few post cards but they didn't have stamps to sell me. They told me to go to the tobacco shops which also sell stamps but that hasn't been working out real well so far.
2.5km into this mornings walk was the fountain de vino. A local winery is along the camino and it has a fountain that dispenses wine and/or water. The wine was empty. Boo! I found out later from an American guy that he, 2 Danes and another guy were there all night drinking the free wine.
Today was mostly up hill. Blahhh
Traffic jam camino style: sheep
Like hundreds of sheep.
I stopped at 2:00 at a new albergue in Villamayor de Monjardin. It is clean and nice but at €15almost double the albergue on the next block. I picked to stay here because this one has wifi, a kitchen and breakfast included.
The shower felt like heaven. I payed €3 to was clothes in the washer machine while I got a popsicle at the bar around the block. "Bars" here are more like cafes that server sandwiches, snacks, meals as well as drinks.
Hung my laundry up to solar dry. Went to the grocery store. Really, they need more ready to eat stuff here like frozen dinners or chef boyardee. I did find a packet of just add water pasta carbonara. I bought 2 hotdogs to add to it. The meet selection was limited to ham, sausage and hotdogs. It was actually pretty good. As the directions were in Italian, I kind of guessed and next time I would add more water so the pasta can cook a bit longer. But other than that it was much better than last nights dinner.
Going to bed early tonight so to try and beat the heat tomorrow.
